These sprinkle rice krispy stars are the perfect treat to make this 4th of July. They’re sweet, full of texture and incredibly festive! A fun family-friendly snack for an Independence Day party!

I am all about making holidays fun and festive as I can with the food we eat, and these rice krispy stars are perfect for the 4th of July. I believe that food should be healthy, but that it’s also ok to eat for the soul. These treats do just that! They’re crispy, sweet and melt in your mouth.

All you do is combine your ingredients in a sauce pan, flatten in a glass dish and then cut out stars with a star cutter. It’s simple to make and comes together in minutes. What makes them perfect for the 4th of July is the red and blue sprinkles as well as the star shape. I used just the red and blue sugar sprinkles; Feel free to use any red and blue sprinkles you have.

These are great to make ahead of time for a party or to have to munch on for dessert or during fireworks. They’re fun to make with kiddos, too! I hope you love this recipe as much as my family and I do!

Ingredients

You will need Unsalted Butter, Marshmallows, Rice Krispy Cereal and Red and Blue Sugar Sprinkles.

For Littles

These are super fun to make with your littles and a great treat for them to enjoy over the 4th of July. Because of the sugar content in these, I recommend waiting until your littles are 2+ years in age for eating.

How To

In a saucepan, melt your butter. Then add your marshmallows and mix until combined. Turn off the heat. Then add in your Rice Krispies and sprinkles and mix until combined.

Flatten in a 9×13 pan and cut out using a star shape cookie cutter. Leave out on parchment until set.

Enjoy!:)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 5 1/2 cups marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1/2 cup of red and blue sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  • Grease a 9 by 13 glass dish with olive oil spray and set aside.
  • Over low heat, melt your butter. Once melted, add in your marshmallows and mix until they have completely melted and combined with the butter.
  • Turn the heat off and add in your Rice Krispies and sprinkles. Mix with a wooden spoon until all the Rice Krispies and sprinkles are coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  • Scoop the Rice Krispy mixture into the greased glass dish and flatten using a spatula.
  • Let cool for at least 3-4 minutes and then using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut out stars and place on parchment paper to set. You will need to run the cookie cutter in water every 2 times you cut out a star. If you don’t, the cookie cutter will get sticky and you won’t get a clean star shape.
  • After you cut out stars, using a spatula you can re-flatten the Rice Krispies to cut out more stars until there are no more Rice Krispies left to cut out.
  • Let all the stars lay out on parchment for 15 minutes or until set. You can store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Enjoy!:)
