Sweet Potato Mash

This sweet potato mash is the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table this year. Don’t get me wrong, I am a traditionalist when it comes to Thanksgiving food like mashed potatoes and gravy. However, this sweet potato mash doesn’t take anything away from the traditional potatoes! I love to put both regular mashed potatoes and this sweet potato mash out on the table side by side. I also make this recipe all the time as a dinner side for my toddler and I, and it is a huge hit. The natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes is the star flavor in this mash, but the butter and milk make it incredibly rich and creamy. I love to top the bowl of mash with another slab of butter and maple syrup. I hope you and your family love this recipe as much as my toddler and I do!

For Littles

This mash is also a great recipe to make for your little one as it’s easy to eat, full of good vitamins and a great way to introduce a new food like sweet potato! If you want to serve this to your baby under 1, just add breast milk in place of the whole milk since it is not recommended to give your little under 12 months of age cow’s milk.

This is how I serve it to my toddler. Simple!

How To

Boil your sweet potatoes until tender.

Combine your cooked sweet potatoes, milk, butter, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Mash!

Top with more butter and maple syrup. Enjoy!
