It is still apple season right now, and this cinnamon apple oatmeal is the perfect warm and comforting bowl for breakfast. It’s rich with cinnamon and apple flavor, creamy and satisfying. My favorite part of this recipe is that it all cooks in the microwave for just 2 minutes, and even the apples come out cooked! I love to add a little bit of milk to finish it off! This is one of Willow’s favorite kinds of oatmeal too! We share a bowl of it together for breakfast at least once a week. You can top it with granola, chopped nuts or more cinnamon. I hope you love this as much as my toddler and I do!
Ingredients
You will need Rolled Oats – quick oats will not work for this because quick oats cook quicker and the apples will not come out done, an Apple, Cinnamon, Maple Syrup – you can use honey if you don’t have maple syrup, and you will need Salt.
For Littles
I love to make these oats for my toddler because of the amount of fiber and protein she gets from a serving of these oats. You can serve this to your little ones anywhere from 9 months +! I say this so your little one has some practice chewing before working on the apples that are in the oatmeal.
How To
In a microwave safe bowl, combine the oats, water, apples, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt. Mix and put in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Serve with toppings.
