These easy Asian noodles with tofu is the perfect weeknight meal to make for the family. The crisp but soft tofu marries perfectly with the sweet and savory noodles. Best part is, you whip it up in one pan!

I love to make this meal on a night when I don’t have a lot of time but need something healthy yet satisfying. The tofu is tossed with soy sauce, salt and pepper and pan-seared until crisp. The rice noodles soak in hot water until al dente, and are tossed in the same pan you cooked the tofu in with a combination of soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger and garlic. Tofu is an amazing plant-based protein; an easy way to get your protein with no meat! This meal doesn’t have any spice or flavors that kids have a hard time with, so it’s a great kitchen staple if you have kiddos. I hope you love this recipe as much as my family and I do!
Ingredients
You will need Olive Oil – canola or vegetable oil will work too, Tofu – I like the extra firm tofu for this recipe, Soy Sauce, Salt, Pepper, Rice Noodles – for this recipe I use regular rice noodles or angel hair rice noodles, but I have also used regular spaghetti noodles for this recipe, Honey – if you want to make this recipe vegan, feel free to use maple syrup or sugar in place of the honey, Hoisin Sauce, Rice Wine Vinegar, Sesame Oil, Fresh Ginger and Fresh Garlic.
For Littles
My little one loves this recipe! She loves tofu and it’s a great source of plant-based protein. Both the tofu and rice noodles are easy to chew and this recipe is a great way to introduce your little one to new and fun flavors! This recipe has honey it; however, so if you want your little under 12 months old to have some, use maple syrup or sugar in place of the honey. Otherwise, you can serve this to your little 12 months +!

Prep your tofu and cut into 1 inch cubes, seasoning it with soy sauce salt and pepper. Soak your rice noodles in a bowl of hot water. Make your sauce and set aside.

Easy Asian Noodles with Tofu
Ingredients
For the tofu
- 1 lb extra firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the noodles
- 4 oz rice noodles – I like angel hair or regular rice noodles for this recipe * see notes
- 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
Instructions
Prep your tofu (see notes *).
- Take the tofu and let it sit on a couple of pieces of paper towel for a couple of minutes to get some of the moisture out.
- Cut the tofu into a couple of 2-inch strips and gently press more paper towels onto the tofu, being careful not to break the tofu.
- Cut the tofu strips into 1 inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
- Carefully, making sure not to break the tofu, toss the tofu with the soy sauce, salt and pepper. Set aside!
Make the Recipe
- In a small measuring cup, combine all your sauce ingredients: soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, garlic and ginger. Set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in large pan over medium/high heat.
- As the pan is heating up, start cooking your rice noodles. Place your rice noodles in a big bowl with very hot water. Let sit for 15 minutes or until al dente. If you are using a different kind of noodles, cook according to package directions.
- Once the pan is hot, add in the tofu and cook until all sides are lightly browned. Careful when flipping the tofu, making sure you’re not breaking the tofu cubes apart. This is hard, I usually accidentally break some pieces. This should take 7-8 minutes until all the tofu is browned.
- Once browned, remove the tofu to a plate and turn the heat down to low.
- Add in your sauce mixture and stir for 1 minute.
- Add in your cooked noodles and toss with the sauce. Then add your tofu back into the pan to top the noodles.
- Serve with green onions if you would like. You can store this in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Enjoy!:)
