As a toddler mom, I am always looking for new ways to add veggies into my daughter’s meals. Incorporating veggies into pasta sauces is my favorite way to do just that. This recipe not only incorporates veggies, but this recipe I made for specifically using frozen veggies! I always have some frozen veggies on hand, so this is a quick sauce for me to whip up. I love to make this for a quick lunch when I feel my daughter and I need something healthy, but hearty. I hope you and your kids love this recipe as much as we do!

For this recipe I have used frozen peas, frozen carrots (or a combination of both peas and carrots), frozen broccoli and frozen cauliflower (or a mix of both). Most frozen veggies would work for this recipe!
For Littles
My 16-month-old does not leave anything left on her plate when I serve it to her. I love to serve it to her with any pasta, although if I’m wanting something different, I love to use whole wheat pasta. You can serve this to your little one 6 months old+! This recipe has cream cheese, which is okay for babies to eat. If you’re worried about pasta size, you can always cut up the pasta into smaller pieces before you serve.
This is how I serve it to my 16 month old:

Make your pasta. Soak your frozen veggies in the blender with hot water.

minutesIngredients
1/2 lb of any pasta of your choice
1 cup frozen veggies
1/3 cup hot water
3 tablespoons cream cheese
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pinch of black pepper
Directions
- Bring a big pot of salted water up to a boil and pour in your pasta. Cook your pasta until it’s done to your liking. * (See notes)
- While your pasta is cooking, make your sauce. In a blender, or small food processor, pour in the frozen veggies and hot water. Let the veggies soak in the water for 2 minutes.
- Add in the cream cheese, olive oil, salt and pepper to the blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain your pasta and set up a plate with a serving of pasta. Spoon a couple of tablespoons of sauce onto the pasta, then mix until the pasta is coated with the sauce.
- Serve with Parmesan cheese on top if you would like! You can store the pasta and sauce separately in airtight container for up to 3 days. Enjoy!:)
Notes
- * Make sure you salt the water generously when cooking the pasta so the pasta has some flavor when mixed in with the sauce. I like to add in a couple tablespoons of salt per lb of pasta.
