Classic Animal Crackers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor, combine all the ingredients. Pulse until a dough forms.
  • Put the dough in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 15-30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375.
  • Take out and roll out the dough in a couple of batches on a lightly floured surface. I like rolling the dough out in batches so that I can easily roll it to 1/4 inch thick without it being too big or long to roll out.
  • Using the animal cracker cutters, cut out your animals and place on the baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 375 for 5-7 minutes, until just lightly browned and set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a couple minutes.
  • Repeat batches until you have used up all the dough.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Enjoy!:)
