These 3 Ingredient Cacao Balls are a nutritious but delicious no-bake snack that taste just like chocolate! They’re made of dates, peanut butter and cacao powder; creating a creamy and chocolatey flavor and texture. They’re toddler and kid friendly!

These bite-sized balls of deliciousness are full of healthy fats, fiber and antioxidants. They’re great for the heart and will give us a nice boost of energy to help us sustain our days. I love to add sprinkles to them to make them fun to eat and adorable to look at.

If you want more no-bake healthy sweet ideas, try my Iron Rich Date Balls or my Peanut Butter Crunch Bars.

These tasty treats are incredibly easy and quick to make: all you do is throw the ingredients in a food processor and make balls out of them! They’re freezer-friendly and travel well! I love to make them for easy snacks or to eat as breakfasts. I hope you love this recipe as much as my toddler and I do!

Ingredients

Dates – these are the base of the balls. These are a must for the recipe!

Peanut Butter – you can substitute almond or hazelnut butter

Cacao Powder – I LOVE using cacao powder because of the health benefits it contains compared to cocoa powder. Cacao powder is the minimally processed version of the cocoa bean which contains more nutrients than cocoa powder. But, if all you have is unsweetened cocoa powder, that is completely fine to use in place of cacao!! This is the brand I use that I buy off Amazon- Cacao Powder.

Sprinkles (optional) – makes these balls of deliciousness even cuter! I use these dye-free sprinkles from Amazon – Dye-free sprinkles.

For Littles

I love to make these for my toddler. They are high in important antioxidants and fiber and I love the energy boost they provide! My toddler calls them “chocolate balls” because they taste like chocolate to her. You can serve these to your toddler 12 months +! I say this because cacao has minimal caffeine, so I recommend waiting to serve to your little until they’re a year old.

How To

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and mix until completely combined
