These chocolate rice crispy treats are made with brown rice crispy cereal for a healthier treat! They’re crunchy, chocolatey and easy to whip up. They’re toddler and kid-friendly!

I love rice crispy treats, but I strive to make snacks to have around the house that contain healthier ingredients and are more nutritious for you (even though we eat regular rice crispy treats too!). These rice crispy treats are made with brown rice crispy cereal, golden flax meal, unsweetened cocoa powder, peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla extract: healthy & satisfying ingredients!
They’re so simple to whip up, all you need to do is add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined. Then you will press the mixture into a greased 8×8 pan and chill it in the fridge or freezer. Cut into squares and serve!
Because these rice crispy treats are healthier, I love to make these as an everyday snack. My toddler loves these and asks for them every day. I hope you love this recipe as much as my toddler and I do!

Ingredients
You will need Peanut Butter – almond butter also works, Coconut Oil – butter also works in this, Maple Syrup – adds a nice sweetness to this recipe, Vanilla Extract, Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, Brown Rice Crispy Cereal and Golden Ground Flax Meal – it helps to bind along with the peanut butter.
I order this brown rice crispy cereal from Amazon – Organic Brown Rice Crispy Cereal.
For Littles
I make these specifically for my toddler! I love to make delicious snacks that are also healthy. These do just that by using the brown rice crispy cereal instead of the original rice crispy cereal and we are using peanut butter instead of marshmallows! You can serve this to your littles 9 months +!
